Richard Morgan from the Austin Energy Green Building program will be speaking about this historic and innovative sustainable building program within the city of Austin, Texas. AE/GB has found tremendous success providing technical support to homeowners, architects, designers, and builders using both LEED and locally-developed rating tools.
Austin started the first green building program in the U.S. in 1991 with a green rating system for homes. Over the past 19 years it has grown to include ratings for commercial and multifamily buildings, responsibility for energy code development, consulting for other cities and utilities and implementing parts of the Austin Climate Protection Plan. Richard Morgan, will share lessons learned from Austin’s experience with green building policies and practices to support a sustainable future.
